Re: Headliner Material
Last Poster: Paul_nicol in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 09:02:34 pm
Hi, I recently did my headlining, i'#039ll get some pics. The material on the headliner is pretty different to that used on the pillars, I nbsp used the arm rest / door cards as my point of reference. My research indicated that finding a fabric with a foam backing and had some stretch in it was key, doing around the horn of the overhead console is tricky and avoiding creases is quite cha

Not particularly helpful, but I have a similar think in my 2005 GTI. Here'#039s what I do know. The lights in the headliner i.e. rear reading light, lights in sunvisor etc are all connected via the same wiring loom. I know this as I replaced my entire headliner wiring loom as it was in tatters, but they still don'#039t work! The lights in the overhead console at the front appears to be c

Might as well check the cam Phase position - VCDS, Engine > Block 93, should be near or close to 0KW

I'#039ve been down the rabbit hole as i need to do mine soon, from what i'#039ve found the fabric material is called '#039SunBrite'#039 and you'#039ll need it in Charcoal Black (SB2469) for a GTI.

https://www.uphsup.com/p-7668-sb2469-2469-flat-knit-headliner-charcoal-black-60-316-sunbrite-per-yard.aspx

I'#039ve mostly found American sites selling it, Good luck!

My son just picked up his first car, 2005 1.4S and as an S it is absolutely rock bottom standard with no options added.
The first thing he obviously wants is to sort some music out so need to swap out the boggo head unit.
I have a Touran so know how much of a ballache VW make it for us so cam someone give me a straight list (in terms of connectors) of what he will need to

Check hoses, connections and so on. Diesels can run on ambient pressure if needed but if they are designed to be boosted, they make no power without pressure. Maybe you are lucky and you've only split a hose or blown a connection somewhere.

Boot won't open, tried replacing suspect parts but the issue remains

After getting rear ended about 10 months ago by boot hasn'#039t been able to open. I have tried replacing the boot latch h and the exterior handle that is used to open the boot but no luck so far. What else could be causing this issue? I have checked the rear electrical harness for broken or frayed wires and everything seems to be fine, all connections are clean, and I'#039m receiving a

Yeah, not exactly '#039cheap'#039. I just watched the auction sites and bought the pieces separately as the prices got '#039acceptable'#039.

The depth of the inserts is just shy of 10cm so I'#039d go with that as the starting point for your home made solution.

One thing I noticed when measuring is that the inserts are contoured slightly to account for bits like the anchors a

Well if you have a parts dealer that can get you parts the same day or next day, dont buy anything. If they havent been pulled out for a few thousand km'#039s, they are likely not going to come out and instead the rail will slide off the injectors. In that case, you dont need a full seal kit, only the seals that go into the rail.

However, my suggestion is, if you are taking

Had a nice week off, but came back home ready to push on with the car.

Unfortunately the weather had other ideas, and it'#039s been raining non stop since I got back.

On the other hand a few bits arrived from china, so I decided to do a small renovation of the steering wheel whilst I'#039m not able to work outside.

Nice purchase. For the remap R-Tech are known as the go to but any reputable tuning company should be able to sort you out.

Instrument cluster screen
Last Poster: LincolnDupuy in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on July 25, 2025, 10:46:42 am
My instrument cluster screen has gone faulty ever since i got it. If im lucky the screen flickers on and off but displays an "quoterror"quot where the odometer is. Most the timethe screen is iust plain red though. Anyone experienced this before or have solutions. I had it looked at briefly and he said it might be an internal issue.[IMG]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20250725/19e4929524

If the 91 is reading 27.5 - 28.5 you most likely misaligned the chain.
